My name is Rey Hernandez and I was born in Havana, Cuba, on July 24, 1985.
I am a lover of sports, nature, family, and a very good friend of my friends.
I went to Art School in Havana, and spent four years getting all the way to what would be my career in the future knowledge. It was here that I met my partner forever, Photography, was here my way, beginning and end, there was no other.
In 2004, I began my university studies at the Faculty of Social Communication, my best complement to understand and communicate the intricacies of art, parallel studying English, French and photojournalism at the International Institute of Journalism in Havana Cuba.
In 2010, after finishing my studies I started working in the Communication department of the Cuban Institute of Music, there begin my career as a photographer. My first jobs there were photographic coverage of press conferences on national events and concerts, then come hedges for cultural magazines with international character as La Jiribilla to this Journal made the Winston Marsalis and the JLC series, which in 2013 would become in my first sample for exhibition hall of International Press Center.
After spending some time working in Cuba, I was 2 years living in Mexico City where my photographic work for a living was paused, there came my intimate series devoted to family, friends and especially that embodies the wonderful birth of my daughter, that one day I will publish moment, and then I came to Dallas, Texas USA, where I currently live and work as a photographer for 2 years.
